The 23rd. annual World's Championship Crawfish Etouffee Cook-Off has come and gone and it was a huge success this year. This year the cook-off  was again held at The Northwest Community Center Pavilion. There were close to 40 teams competing for the top trophies at the cook-off this year. The crowd was large with many visitors from throughout the United States. The samples of etouffee were ready to eat early, starting around 10:00 am. The taste of the etouffee was as varied as much as the variety of people there.

   The weather was beautiful the whole day except for about five minutes that it tried to rain. The rain left as fast as it came and left us weather we couldn't have ordered better for the event. It left us a sunny day with a slight overcast which cooled off a little. The temperature averaged in the mid 70's throughout the day.

   There were fun jumps and rock climbing for the kids and music and dancing for all. Entertainment with music was provided by Kyle Huval and The Jambalaya Cajun Band.

   This year saw several new contestants and also some that are very familiar at the Cook-Off. Some were from the Acadiana area and some were from other states. All had a good time and made another great Cook-Off.

   Trophies for the winners were awarded at 2:30 pm. The results are listed below. Music and dancing continued until 4:00 pm. Plenty of music and food was enjoyed by all that attended. All the winners are listed below.
